     Opening Prayer

Minutes from the March Meeting: Approved

     Long Term Planning Committee Update:

    • Need to plan joint PPC/finance council meeting with diocesan stewardship director.
    • PPC should be on board with the LT plans. Plan will be presented at the next PPC meeting – resolution on the plans would be the goal.

    Ministry Rack Update:

    • 17 of the ministry cards have been translated and should be printed up on card stock by this weekend.

     Discernment Update

    • 7 PM on 05/03. There are 6 candidates for 3 spots. Women’s CRHP meeting is that night and one member is a candidate.
    • Candidates will meet via Zoom to learn what PPC is about with a powerpoint presentation.
    • PPC will decide the 3 best candidates if more that 3 people decide to accept.

    Family Fun Fest Update

    • Food, music, no games.
    • Masks required except while eating.

    Open Forum Discussion/Set new date

    • Majority of discussion was re: long range planning.
    • Also discussed:
      • Streaming masses
      • Bilingual Rosaries starting May 13th @ 6PM. (alternating languages for each decade)
      • Taking communion to the homebound will resume. ECMs will need to be 18 to do that.
    • Next open forum August 30 @ 7:00pm, probably via Zoom

    Reopening Parish Discussion:

    • Send out letter letting people know we still care about them even if they can’t make it to mass. Letter will have all the relevant dates and times.
    • September 12, mass @ 11am with picnic, blessing of candles, collage wall. There will also be mass at 5PM on 09/11 and 8AM in Latin on 09/12.
    • Time frame for collecting pictures and having people pick up candles:
      • Candles will be ordered by the parish, distributed with donation only if the families want to give them. Can pick up candles about 1 month before the Sept 12 mass to decorate them and then return with them during the mass. Rather than having a table for the candles to be displayed, it would be easier to manage pictures of the candles in a gallery.  Families holding the candles will serve a dual purpose: candles and the collage. Display on gathering area wall?  TV?
      • Pictures for the collage: would need to be due between 08/01-08/23.
      • Start candle distribution and photo submission August 7-8.
      • Photos will play weekends starting August 14-15 through September 12, adding each week’s new submissions.
    • May PPC meeting will focus on developing other details of the event.
    • Other concerns: Missing Sacraments, prayers needed, identifying those who need a box from the food pantry, flowers for those affected by Covid.

    Scavenger Hunt Discussion/June Activity

    • No April scavenger hunt; May will be family fun fest.
    • Summer movie nights outside if the weather is good June-July-August. Contingency plan would be in the basement but social distancing needs to be followed. Have ministries take turns running concessions.
    • Move scavenger hunt to September 12.
    • Octoberfest, pet blessing, and/or Trunk or Treat (?)
      • October 2nd UT plays @ Missouri; Have Pet blessing immediately followed by Octoberfest.
      • Trunk or Treat needs either less publicity or more organization but is a big hit and there is interest in having it again.
